House and Pet Sitting Information

Experienced pet sitters providing loving care in the comfort of your pets own home. Our pet and house sitting services are focused within Leicester including the close surrounding villages.

Please see the pricing section for more details. For house sitting we will give you a quote once we have all the details, i.e the location and length of the stay, number of pets and their care needs.

We have over twenty years experience as professional pet and house sitters. Having happily cared for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, rats, hamsters, fish, tortoises, snakes, birds and fish. We have experience in taking care of dogs in whelp, puppies and kittens. Also we have experience in looking after deaf dogs, blind dogs, dogs with epilepsy, along with dogs and cats with other medical conditions that need daily monitoring. We have completed house-sits that have ranged from a few days, weeks and months, in a variety of homes, bungalows, flats, new builds and characterful old houses. With many repeat clients, we are dedicated to providing a professional, reliable and friendly service.

We "Sarah and Trevor" will stay in your home and look after any pets in your absence. We will gather all the information needed to provide your pets with all their home comforts and will keep as closely as possible to your pets daily routines as per your instructions for their walks, feeding, treats, grooming, fuss and playtime. Also we can water the plants and garden, poop scoop the garden area, put the bins/recycling out for collection day and keep your home clean and tidy, as you left it. Having a house and pet sitter means along with your home security being enhanced your pet's can stay in their familiar surroundings, ideal for any pet that doesn't do well in a boarding kennel, cattery or similar. We do have other pets to visit when we are house sitting, so any pets we are house sitting with must be accustomed to being left for short periods of time. This will be no more than 4 consecutive hours for dogs.

Yes, we do provide pet care visits and pop-ins. We can visit once or twice daily to feed, water and check on your pet's general well being, administer medication, clean litter trays, set timer bowls. Fuss and playtime as wanted. We can also do home check-ins  for watering plants, gardens and ensuring all is well.

We will collect any keys we need for the pet and house sitting prior to the booking start date. We can hold the keys if you wish, for any future use of our services, or you can provide details of a key safe.

We are able to take your dog(s) in our vehicle to the nearest park or open countryside to explore footpath trails, woodlands and fields. We respect grazing livestock and follow the countryside code. If you or your dog prefer we can walk directly from your home i.e. travel sickness or phobias.

The first few walks with your dog(s) will normally always be with them on the lead until we are accustomed to their behaviour and character and they get to know and trust us. We will ask you about your dogs personality and whether you would like them to walk on or off the lead when we have our initial meeting.

We will take all your pets medical history and all the veterinary details required when we complete the veterinary form. We have lots of experience caring for elderly animals with ongoing health conditions, and are able to administer medication. We will always contact you or your supplied emergency contact if we are concerned for your pets health. In any emergency situation we will take them directly to your vet or the nearest veterinary hospital.

No, we will shop for ourselves. Please leave us some room in the fridge and freezer for longer stays, a shelf or draw is ample and much appreciated, we will only use items that you say we may for example perishables.

We will use the ones you provide and pop them in the wash time permitting on the final day, or we can bring our own towels/sheets.

We will ask you for the time you are planning on leaving your home (we will have already collected the keys beforehand) We will do our best to accommodate very early or late departures, aiming to arrive within an hour or two of you leaving, similarly we will check with you the time you plan to return home.

Should your home journey be delayed for any reason we will stay on with your pets and property, until you are nearing home. In the case we have another house sitting assignment imminent we can provide visits for your pets until your return or alternative arrangements are in place.

Yes, we can send you updates via WhatsApp, text or email. Please let us know your preference as alternatively we will only contact you if necessary.
