We "Sarah and Trevor" live in, stopping overnight and care for your home and any pets during your absence. This means your home security is enhanced and your pets can be kept in their familiar environment and routine. We will walk the dog, water the plants, poop scoop the garden etc. We are full time pet carers and do have other pet visits to do when we are house-sitting so any pets we sit for must be ok to be left for short periods, no more than 4 consecutive hours.
We will discuss with you on our initial meeting the arrangements regarding the keys for your property. We are happy to hold a key so that you can call on us to provide pet, house sitting or visits as and when you need us. You can alternately provide the code for a key safe, whichever you prefer. We do make a small charge for key drop off/collection which will be added to your invoice if you require the keys to be returned after the last visit, day of any house pet sitting service.
We will ask you for the times you plan to leave and return to your home.
We are flexible and will do our best to accommodate very early or late departures. We will aim to arrive within a couple of hours of you leaving. In the case you are delayed let us know. We will stay on, or provide regular visits should we have another housesit to go to, until alternate arrangements are in place or your return.
Any fees for additional days/visits will be invoiced.
We will use the bedding and towels you provide if this is ok. We will put them in the washing machine time permitting on the last day, or we can bring our own.
We will bring our own food, please leave us some room in the fridge and freezer for longer stays. One empty shelf in the fridge and a freezer draw is ample and much appreciated.
We will provide updates on your pets via WhatsApp, let us know the frequency you would like to receive these. Alternatively if you prefer we will only contact you if necessary.
We will discuss your pets medical and veterinary information on our initial meeting with you and take all the contact details we need. We are able to administer medication and have experience in caring for pets with ongoing health issues and conditions. We will call you or your nominated contact with any concerns regarding your pets health and welfare. In an emergency situation we will take them directly to the vet.
When we complete our house sitting checklist with you we will note the location of fuse boxes and the water stopcock. Check how the central heating and hot water are controlled. Run through the use of things like the shower, washing machine, oven etc incase of any little quirks. We will deal with any issues swiftly and calmly, contacting you or your nominated relative/tradesperson if/when necessary.
We are happy to feed the birds, wildlife visitors to your garden if you would like us to. Also we can water the garden, green house, tubs and baskets. Feed the fish and keep an eye on the filters and water levels for ponds. We will follow your instructions as required for your outdoor space, garden and any indoor house plants.
The house and pet sitting fee will depend on your location, length of the stay being booked, your pets and their specific care needs. We will give you a quote for the house and pet sitting once we have all the details.
We accept bank transfer or cash. Our payment details will be on the invoice which will be emailed to you for the initial meeting. Deposits are due on booking to confirm and hold all pet, house sitting dates.
The balance payment for pet care and house sitting will be invoiced approximately 14 days before the pet, house sitting start date.
Deposits are taken to secure and hold all housesitting bookings, also pet care visits will need to be secured with a full or part payment. See our Terms & Conditions for all the details.
We have a spacious estate vehicle, so we are able to take your dog(s) to the nearest park or open countryside to explore footpath trails, woodlands and fields. We respect grazing livestock and follow the countryside code. If you or your dog prefer we can walk directly from your home i.e. travel sickness or phobias.
The first few walks with your dog(s) will normally always be with them on the lead until we are accustomed to their behaviour and character and they get to know and trust us. We will ask you about your dogs personality and whether you would like them to walk on or off the lead when we have our initial meeting.
